10 ways to remove dark circles under your eyes

The traces of fatigue, lack of sleep or last night's dinner with an excess of salt often "print" on the face in the early morning. Swelling under the eyes is a problem familiar to many, but do not rush to book an appointment with a cosmetologist. Often, you can return a fresh look with simple home methods. We figure out how to quickly put yourself in order without injections and hardware procedures.
Bags under the eyes can be the result of a variety of causes: from genetics and lifestyle to lymph congestion. If you are sure that the reason is purely aesthetic and is not associated with serious diseases of internal organs, try these 10 proven ways.
1. Cold compress
Low temperatures are the main enemy of swelling. They provoke vasoconstriction, due to which excess fluid leaves faster. Use two teaspoons, pre-cooled in the refrigerator, or cotton pads soaked in ice water. Apply to the closed eyelids for 3-5 minutes.
2. Massage "finger shower"
Light tapping movements with the pads of your fingers on the bony edge of the eye orbit (from the inner corner to the outer corner and back) start lymphatic drainage. The main rule is not to stretch the delicate skin.
3. Ice cubes from a decoction of herbs
Instead of regular ice, freeze a decoction of chamomile, parsley or green tea. These plants have an anti-inflammatory and tonic effect. A quick massage with an ice cube along the massage lines will return the face to freshness in a couple of minutes.
4. Patches from the refrigerator
Keep your favorite patches in the refrigerator. This enhances their effect several times over. Thanks to the combination of active ingredients (caffeine, hyaluronic acid) and cold, the "open-eyed" effect will come much faster.
5. Sleep on a high pillow
Sometimes bags are the result of gravity. When lying down, the liquid is evenly distributed over the face. If your pillow is too low, moisture accumulates in the eye area. Try sleeping on a slightly higher pillow to keep your head elevated.
6. Reduce your salt intake
Salt is the main "magnet" for water. If you've eaten pickled cucumbers or fish at night, be prepared for swelling in the morning. Try to limit your salt intake 3-4 hours before bedtime.
7. "Tea therapy"
Black or green tea bags (without flavorings!) are a classic that works. Brew them, cool them in the refrigerator and apply to the eyes for 10 minutes. The caffeine and tannins contained in the tea perfectly tone the skin.
8. More clean water
It sounds paradoxical, but in order to remove excess fluid, you need to drink more clean water during the day. The lack of moisture forces the body to store it "for a rainy day", which often leads to morning swelling.
9. The right cream: looking for caffeine
When choosing an eye cream, pay attention to the ingredients. Look for products that contain caffeine, horse chestnut extract, or arnica. These ingredients effectively reduce puffiness and improve blood microcirculation.
10. Take care of your body position after waking up
As soon as you get out of bed, do some simple exercises. Even 5 minutes of activity can help disperse the lymph that has accumulated during the night. Jumping, light stretching, or just walking around the room will help your body get going faster and get rid of excess fluid.
An important reminder: If swelling has become a constant companion despite a healthy lifestyle, be sure to consult a doctor. Chronic bags under the eyes may be a sign of problems with the kidneys, thyroid gland, or cardiovascular system.
